John Moossa

Born in Worcester, MA in 1969. Grew up in Andover, MA . Resides in Richmond, VA. Played Pony League baseball with Penn State head football coach Billy O’Brien. High school band opened up for the Del Fuegos. Attended high school at Phillips Andover Academy graduating in 1987. Earned a history degree from the College of William and Mary in 1992. Always wanted to be a writer but didn’t start writing significantly until 1997. 2 time ASCAP Plus award winning songwriter. First live show in Richmond was a split bill with recording artist Danny Schmidt who was also playing his first Richmond show. Loves performing and singing. Plays acoustic guitar almost exclusively and a Taylor 312 CE specifically.  Proud father of two sons; Dolan and Lex.  Has released five full length indie albums with Moossa.  Headed the 2008 and 2009 Emmyfest concerts in support of the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation. Loves his mom and dad.  Grateful to all bandmates past and present.  Influences are many  here are five; Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Paul Simon, Grateful Dead and Louis Ledford. Currently studying Occupational Therapy at Virginia Commonwealth University as part of entry level MSOT class of 2013
